Aldi Special Buys brings back popular snow gear range

Aldi has brought back its highly anticipated Special Buys range after two years in what will be its “biggest ever sale” – and it’s snow joke.

If you are planning a ski trip this winter and are in desperate need for affordable gear, the German discount store has brought back its “famous” snow range, with prices starting between $5 and $1000.

It will be making its grand comeback to the middle aisle from Saturday, May 20 and it’s expected to be another huge hit.

The range will include more than 70 items, from ski jackets and pants to wool socks, beanies and scarfs and even thermoboots.

“Our snow gear Special Buys were last in store in 2021 and the range was incredibly popular,” an Aldi spokesperson told news.com.au.

“The enthusiasm we have seen from customers in the past is reflective of the high quality and low price point Aldi’s snow gear presents as we make snow sports accessible to more Aussies, just as snow resort destinations across Australia are seeing snowfall.”

The popular range had a brief hiatus in 2022, but is now loaded with high-performance gear and innovative tech for a fraction of what you’d expect to pay.

“We know our customers will be pleased with the quality of the range, including our 100 per cent UV protection goggles which are ventilated to avoid fogging and 12k waterproof-breathable outerwear,” the spokesperson said.

“A family of four can be completely slope ready for under $990 with winter wears from this year’s Aldi range.”

For the adults there’s “waterproof, breathable and stylish” ski jackets for $59.99 with matching ski pants ($49.99).

It is filled with DuPont Sorona wadding which keeps outer garments insulated, breathable, moisture-resistant and heat-retentive in freezing conditions.

To keep you warm, the German retailer even has a thermal underwear set for $29.99. You can also nab thermoboots for just $29.99.

Other hot items include a merino long-sleeve quarter-zip top for $39.99, wool ski socks at $9.99, knitted beanie, snood or scarf ($6.99) and anti-fog adult ski goggles for just $15.99.

“This year’s snow gear range is ideal for casual as well as serious users, who will benefit from a higher level of waterproofing, breathability and functionality than alternatives at the same price point,” the spokesperson told news.com.au.

Meanwhile, for the kids, there are snow jackets for $39.99, pants for $29.99 and a thermal underwear set for $16.99.

The retailer also has merino long-sleeve tops for $29.99, ski goggles at $15.99 and gloves or mittens for $11.99. You can nab the kids a pair of thermoboots for $19.99 and a ski helmet for $24.95 – or choose from a selection of fleece accessories starting from $4.99.
