RHOP: Candiace Dillard Homophobic Tweets Exposed After She Fat Shames Blogger She Issues An Apol

Candiace Dillard has been using her platform to give fans the inside scoop on what’s going on between her and the ladies behind-the-scenes via Instagram Live. However, after a snippet of her Live went viral where she fat shames a blogger — her old tweets have resurfaced.

Instagram blog The Black Socialites often goes viral for breaking news related to the Real Housewives of Potomac. The man behind the page, like many, is a Monique Samuels stan.

Unfortunately, Candiace is often the subject of negative headlines because of her antics on the show.

While on Live with her fans, Dillard not only commented on the blog owner’s weight but also wished death on him.

The clip of her slamming the blogger was reposted among Bravo fan pages. Just a day later, her past homophobic tweets resurfaced.

Another said: ‘I think my officemate might be a little gay. He does some strange things…makes me raise any eyebrow here and there.’

There were more homophobic and transphobic tweets that were up from 2010 and 2011.

Today, Dillard offered a full apology.

She wrote in an open letter: ‘I, alone, am responsible for my words and I deeply regret saying anything that could have hurt my friends, colleagues, family and fans. At the time I was a private citizen, speaking carelessly and crassly as we often do, and for my lack of better judgment, I am sorry,” she penned, adding that she considers herself an LGBTQIA+ ally and recognizes that her words were “insensitive, and undermined the support, reverence and love I have consistently tried to demonstrate through advocacy for LGBTQIA+ rights and causes, as well as my personal relationships with those who identify as LGBTQIA+.’

She continued: ‘I am truly sorry for my comments and I only ask for patience and understanding as I strive to evolve as a person.’

While some feel that this is just another instance of Dillard’s bad behavior and want her to be fired, others have noted what she has done for the LGBTQIA+ community.
