Jiah Khan (2012-2013) – He reportedly started going out with the late British-American actor, model, and singer Jiah Khan in the year 2012. Jiah committed suicide on June 3, 2013, and Jiah’s sister later found a 6-page suicide note which blamed the couple’s strained relationship as a reason for her suicide. Sooraj was charged with abetting Khan’s suicide in 2018. Sooraj Pancholi denied his involvement in Khan’s death. In April 2023, Sooraj was acquitted of abetment charges in the Jiah Khan suicide case.
Athiya Shetty (2015) – He was also linked with actor Athiya Shetty (daughter of Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty) in 2015. Reports suggested that they started dating after working together in the 2015 movie Hero and their chemistry in the movie as well as at the movie promotion events further deepened suspicions of their alleged romance.

Sooraj Pancholi made his first theatrical film appearance by playing the role of Sooraj Kaushik (Radha’s love interest and Pasha’s son) in the 2015 Hindi-language romantic action film Hero, produced by Salman Khan and Subhash Ghai. For this role, Sooraj received many awards including the Filmfare Award for “Best Male Debut”, Stardust Award for “Best Jodi (Pair) Of The Year” (shared with Athiya Shetty), International Indian Film Academy Award for “Hottest Pair” (shared with Athiya Shetty), and Producers Guild Film Award for “Most Promising Debut Jodi” (shared with Athiya Shetty).
